LUTCHMIAH was founded in Milan in 2023 at the intersection of distant cultures, where Indian heritage meets European aesthetics. Access to the histories of people and places beyond one’s own upbringing can feel restrictive. Through clothing, these fragments are reassembled, reconstructing not only a shared, collective memory, but also a deeply personal one.

Driven by a conscious approach to production, carefully selected and controlled materials are employed, with a focus on leftover stock fabrics to minimize waste and extend the lifecycle of existing resources. These materials are developed into limited-run pieces through a considered, low-impact process.

At its foundation lies a strong connection with India, where traditional techniques and fabrics are preserved and continuously applied within a contemporary framework. This integration allows each piece to embody heritage, positioning craftsmanship not as static preservation, but as an evolving form of expression.

Every garment is conceived with intention, building upon what already holds value while restoring clothing as something shaped by meaning – an approach that is not only sustainable, but also foregrounds what reflects us on an emotional level.
